I Used to Wear Busy Like a Badge of Honor

For years, I thought a packed calendar was proof of my value. I was a "human doing," ticking every box, and yet I felt like I was operating behind a pane of glass—efficient, but disconnected from my own vitality.

Then I realized: I wasn't busy. I was congested.

In Wayfinding, we recognize that congestion isn't a lack of time; it's a lack of flow.

It’s that "functional freeze" where your energy is plugged up by outsider expectations, comparison, and the heavy weight of old "success identities".

When we are congested, we can't hear our North. We stop being mapmakers and start following someone else’s script.

Today, I’m choosing to decongest. Not by doing more, but by "un-becoming" the labels that no longer serve me.

If you feel "plugged up" today, try this:

Stand up. Shake your shoulders. Take one deep, filling breath all the way to the bottom of your lungs. Signal to your nervous system that it is safe to move out of the hustle and back into ease.

I’ve put together a one-page Burnout Audit to help you identify your own energy leaks and start Wayfinding your way home to your North. You’re welcome to grab it below.
